The Handling a spill section of the video is basic training for using and disposing of absorbents correctly. It is made up of the following five steps:

STEP ONE
Get to safety and warn others in the area and get help

STEP TWO
Cordon off the area using the caution tape and get PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)

STEP THREE
Contain the spread of the spill and stop the source of the spill

STEP FOUR
Encircle the spill with socks or booms and absorb with pads

STEP FIVE
Place used absorbents in disposal bags and dispose of in accordance with local authority legislations
